Q&A with Lauren Fong

Currently working on: I'm currently moving back to LA after 4 years in NYC to officially launch CINC Studios

Mom to:  Kirby

What is the best part about motherhood? The best part about motherhood is watching my daughter grow and develop. I am in constant awe of the things that she says and the way she thinks.

What is the most challenging part of motherhood? The most challenging part about motherhood (at this moment) is navigating this new developmental stage (terrible 2s) that is full of pushing limits and discovering independence.

How do you balance work and family? It's extremely difficult and would be impossible without help.  My daughter goes to school part time and we have a nanny.  Perfect balance is impossible and I am constantly working on the balancing act!

Where is your happy place? My happy place is at a spa!

What do you do for me time? I like to go out with my girlfriends for a little "me" time.  It makes me feel like I am more than just a mom and I have a life and relationships outside my family.

What is the best piece of advice that someone gave you? The best piece of knowledge I've been told is that you "can't have it all".  I now understand that it is impossible to be a perfect mom while having the perfect career and marriage.  This understanding has freed me from the pressure of trying to achieve this.  All I can do it try to balance the 3 the best way possible.

What is one piece of advice you would pass on? As a new mom, I would advise to get out there...and meet new people!  After having Kirby I joined neighborhood mom groups and was proactive in getting to know new people.  It truly takes a village to raise a child and having the support of other moms in similar situations has helped me in countless ways.
